Funny Honey

Funny Honey is raw honey harvested in limited quantities from the Northern Washington County and very Southern Alleghany County area. We also offer swarm capture, beehive rehoming, and crop pollination services.

We are very careful in our hive management practices to make sure our bees are safe and staying healthy all year long.

THE STORY OF FUNNY HONEY
Funny Honey came about after world-renowned physical comic, juggler, and magician Howard Mincone inherited a Master Beekeeper’s equipment. Using the same determination that has kept audiences laughing for thirty plus years, Howard took multiple classes, workshops, and spent countless hours being mentored by other highly knowledgeable beekeepers. Howard then purchased two nucleus colonies, and that’s when, for Howard, the funny business became the HONEY business!

Howard’s beehives grew, split, grew some more, and then, some very close friends of Howard’s, Cario Farms said, “We are interested in buying hives if you will manage them!” That meant more hives, more apiaries, more bees for Howard. Then in 2020 Howard started catching swarms of bees and removing bees from trees and houses, and his hives continued to grow, split, and grow some more!

Today, Howard has grown his honey business to include thousands of bees. Bees Howard jokingly remarks are happily employed as part of his entertainment company, Smile for a While Productions, because their honey is so good – it always brings a smile to your face!
